EMMA

Emma and I have been best friends since high school.  We’ve always had our own group of friends.  She doesn’t fit with my group, I don’t fit with hers.  It’s still like that.  So when we hang out, it’s just the two of us.  This makes things complicated for me sometimes because she’s really cute and I struggle to maintain the boundaries of friendship.  She says she likes that about me, so I have to keep up that facade.  She says she likes that I just treat her like a friend and I’m not always trying to get in her pants like other guys do.  She’s probably convinced I don’t want to get in her pants ’cause I guess I’m a good actor.

My name is Wall Grimm and this is my drawing of Emma.

emma-2[1]

Her father is half black from Zimbabwe, half Italian.  Her mother is Colombian.  Emma’s skin is the color of creamy caramel, and I bet it tastes as good as that.

She has shiny black hair and grey eyes, like the color of a revolutionary cemetery.  I told her that when we were kids, that her eyes were like a graveyard, so maybe that’s when she got the idea to start calling me Grimm.

Not only is Emma beautiful, but she’s smart and cool, and has a lot going for her, so I don’t know why she continues to hang around with the likes of me.

This is my love song that I wrote for Emma and performed for her at Sharly’s coffeehouse at Charlotte’s Web:

(Music and performance by Kev Cooper at http://kevs-domain.net/  Lyrics by Sage Doyle)

“For Emma”

Every time I see you
there’s so much I want to say
but I fear that my honesty
would make you turn away
I want to expose my heart
my worth
the value of my soul
I’ve tried and failed because I’m such a fool
and there’s more for you to know

Because you make me want to be a better man
you inspire my strength and capability
I want so much for you to understand
I need to prove this truth and my sincerity

You are the breeze of every morning
which eases the life in me
you are the muse of all my moments
my peace and intensity

Whenever I think of you
there’s an agony inside
because I know I’m not the man
who deserves you at his side
I’ve made mistakes, I’ve done bad things
I’ve lost you as a friend
I’m working hard to create a world
I’ll be a proper man in the end

Because you make me want to be that better man
you inspire my strength and capability
I want so much for you to understand
I need to prove this truth and my sincerity

You are the breeze of every morning
which eases the life in me
you are the muse of all my moments
my peace and intensity

You are the rhythm of my heartbeat
the eminence of my esteem
you are the benefit of my existence
my peace in intensity
and I love you
Emma, I love you
I love you
Emma, I love you…

  3. Emma is an interesting person from what I just read. Thanks for following my blog. I am humbled and delighted.

  4. She sounds lovely, like an exotic beauty. Great drawing too. I thought you had a journal for Emma. Or maybe you said you would just like to read it.

    • Thank you, especially for complimenting the drawing. I’m not an artist, not that good. And yeah, I meant it would be interesting to read her version of the stories Grimm tells, but I haven’t written one.

      • Well it slapped that princess smile off her face when Dickatator said nope to the gap goody I tell you now. I’m sure left dazed and in shock. Then Amon go to the bathroom and whack instead. Hahah…genius.
