Blog of the Year 2013 – 6 Stars!

I made six stars!  Thanks so much to everyone who awarded me, I very deeply appreciate it.

These are the talented and incredible people who honored me, not in the order necessarily that I received them:

A star from which gave me 4 stars

A star from which gave me 5 stars

A star from which gave me my total of six!

I also received a 7th star from another blogger who has since deleted his/her blog.  I just want to say thank you to that person in case they’re still hovering about the blog world, but I don’t want to mention any names in case they’d prefer to be anonymous, since I’m not sure if they’re blogging anymore.

Thanks so much, friends!

The instructions for this award are simple:

1. Select the blog(s) you think deserve the ‘Blog of the Year 2013’ Award

2. Write a blog post and tell us about the blog(s) you have chosen – there are no minimum or maximum number of blogs required – and ‘present’ the blog(s) with their award.

3. Let the blog(s) that you have chosen know that you have given them this award and share the instructions with them – (please don’t alter the instructions or the badges!)

4. Come over and say hello to the originator of the ‘Blog of the Year 2013’ Awardvia this link –

5. You can now also join the ‘Blog of the Year’ Award Facebook page – click the link here and share your blog posts with an even wider audience.

6. And as a winner of the award – please add a link back to the blog that presented you with the award – and then proudly display the award on your blog… and start collecting stars…

Yes – that’s right – there are stars to collect!

Unlike other awards which you can only add to your blog once – this award is different!

When you begin you will receive the ‘1 star’ award – and every time you are given the award by another blog – you can add another star!

There are a total of 6 stars to collect.

Which means that you can check out your favourite blogs – and even if they have already been given the award by someone else – you can still bestow it on them again and help them to reach the maximum 6 stars!

Ok, here are my awardees.  This is probably the most complicated factor in blogging for me.  I picked the below people for various reasons.  I know there has to be some of you out there that I missed and that’s the part I hate about selecting people.  If I forgot you, please don’t be offended, it’s just a lot of blogs to sort through and I get kind of overwhelmed, which creates a chaotic state of disorganization for me.  If I left you out, call it overworked axons and executive functioning issues.  That’s really all it is, because I value all of my friends here in the blogging community, and am impressed on a daily basis by the content on your blogs.

I have 4 stars to give out, so take as many of those or all of them if you want.  Happy New Year!

Anyway, awardees as follows, not in any particular order:

    • Thanks Andro! Hey, you know I had you in my mind to give you the award too, but I remember way back you said you don’t do them, right? If I’m right, it’s weird I remembered that about you, since I could never remember that about anyone else. If I’m wrong, I want you to have it too. It’s yours if you want it, I’ll add you in, just let me know. Anyway, have a brilliant New Year!

      • Hey you’re right I don’t follow the awards but I will add it into my Awards page, I appreciate the kindness from everyone that offers me something and I display them in my extra pages as a thank you.

To be honest it sometimes upsets peeps when I tell them about me not following the awards but I always thank everyone for thinking about me and my Space, I guess it shows that we are doing something right.

        Enough of my wittering…

Thank you Sage and do have a great start to your New Year 2014 :) I wish you good health, happiness and many writing successes along the way, you are a fine writer and deserve to be recognised :) :)

        • Oh that’s right, see I only remembered part of it lol. Awesome, so I will add your link to this list, my friend. You deserve it, it’s one of my favorite blogs even though I come and go, I never forget. Thanks for everything :) Happy New Year!

        • Ok, I just added you at the top of the list!

  17. Hey Sage, it’s been awhile! Thanks for the recognition, man. Always appreciated! How ya been?

    • You’re welcome! Yeah, I know it’s been a long time, both of us have been pretty busy I think. I’ve been great though, how about you?

  18. Well deserved CONGRATULATIONS, Sage. And thank you for passing along a star for

  19. Edward Hotspur

Thanks so much, Sage! I appreciate it. I’ll probably write something eventually. I hadn’t gotten an award in a long time, and then suddenly I got two – but I got the other one first and I sort of spent all my award post karma on that one. Maybe I’ll just… I don’t know. I’ll ramble in this comment section for a while, though. So, nice place you got here. Is that an orchid? I like cheese. I wish At The Drive-In would get back together permanently. I missed them at Coachella, in the sense that I’ve never been to a single Coachella festival. Sayonara!

    • lmao you’re welcome! Take your time with it or do nothing, no problem at all. And come by and ramble whenever you want, great to have you. BYOB though, since it’s cyber. And I’ve never been to a Coachella festival either, so you’re not alone. Happy New Year!

      • Edward Hotspur

I’ve only been to California twice, both business trips, so no fun, unless you count this lame-ass casino about 20 minutes east of El Segundo.

        • I was in California once, in Orange County, on a Greyhound, and I never got off the bus, but my backpack did apparently, because it never made it to Las Vegas with me. I didn’t get it back until 3 weeks later in Houston. That’s my California story…which has nothing really to do with California.

          • Edward Hotspur

I’m going to California with an aching in my heart. I’m going back to Cali, to Cali, to Cali. Dream of Californication. Whitney Houston.

I don’t know. Happy New Year’s Eve Eve.

          • Ok, California quotes…from that great Venice poet, “people are strange, when you’re a stranger, faces look ugly, when you’re alone.” Happy New Year’s Eve Eve, or pre-Eve, or Happy Monday!

          • Edward Hotspur

Happy Wine Opening Day! Dude, you take care of people pretty well, I think. Your ongoing story is very well-received, from what I understand. I guess you have talent, is what I’m saying. You’re the most talented male poet I’ve encountered in my blogosphere. Thanks for being a participant in Romantic Mondays, for example. It’s hard to get guys to take part in that. They’re so…. you know, wimpy.

          • Thanks! That means a lot, it really does. I know what you mean, and you and I are definitely not wimps. Glad to participate, thanks for having me. Your blog is eclectically hilarious, which is awesome. Have a great New Year Hotspur!

          • Edward Hotspur

You too. Today’s the day! And tomorrow is another the day! Hooray!

          • Yep and tomorrow’s now today and today will be yesterday!

          • Edward Hotspur

            Tomorrow never dies, or knows.

          • Nice, kind of a Whitman-esque line.

          • Edward Hotspur

Dies is Bond, Knows is Beatles.

          • Ok I think I need to open some areas of my brain, that have been left to collect dust, in order to comment back and forth with you.

          • Edward Hotspur

No, you just have to enter a permanent state of reference

          • True, maybe I should incorporate some references myself. That way, if I don’t get yours, I still sound like I’m on the same page. Oh f*ck I exposed my tactic of wit.

          • Edward Hotspur

            That’s what I do.

          • lmao ok then

          • Edward Hotspur

Sometimes. Or I just invent a direction to travel.

          • Yeah, that’s kind of a direction I was heading as part of the wit tactic, a diversion method.

  20. look.. you’re a huge WP celeb now ;) ;) Great going!!!

  21. Firstly…congratulations on making 6 stars!!
I have some awards waiting on the back burner :/
I still have to come out with a way to make it easier to hand out awards…hmmm….lol.

    • lol I had a brain storm that would take a lot of work to set it up, but after that initial investment of time, it could make the awards easier. I thought I’d write down on my followers (not the spam ones) and stick them in a hat, then pull them out randomly to award, but not put them back in until the hat’s empty. Adding new followers in as they come. But that also depends on the amount of awards, yet at least I don’t have to feel guilty and it wouldn’t be time consuming. If I do that, I might accept awards on the Sage Doyle blog too. But who knows, another project ;)

      • Hey…I like your idea…I just might steal it! LOL.

        • Yeah it’s good huh? Just a little time to start, then extremely simple. And in the award posts, I’d state my random process. I know you’re supposed to pick the blogs most appropriate for the awards, but f*k that lol I try to pick a combination of awesome blogs, regardless of themes, and awesome bloggers. Steal away if it simplifies things for you ;)

  22. Six stars, that’s fantastic! Congrats, Sage!
And thank you for the nomination! :)

  23. Dear Sage
